Breast lift surgery is an option for women who, although satisfied with the size of their breast, have noticed shape changes. A breast lift is indicated to help contour, without changing your cup size.

• To reshape breasts and change contour.
• To increase the volume of breasts, in combination with the insertion of an artificial implant
• To raise the position of downward pointing nipples
• To reduce the size of the areolas.

If you are happy with your size and just wish to correct contour changes, then a breast lift alone is the correct procedure. If you are requesting breast augmentation after breast feeding, you may also require a breast lift.

When having a breast reduction, the patient automatically also has a breast lift as part of the procedure.

The surgical scars, procedures, anaesthesia and postoperative care are very similar to a breast reduction (see above). The main difference is that no breast tissue is removed with a pure breast lift, and thus the procedure is shorter, and drain tubes are usually not required.
